Unseasonable surge in activity at Sharman Quinney
The property market is alive and well in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire this summer, according Sharman Quinney.
Contrary to the usual seasonal slowdown in the local housing market, the agent’s network of eighteen branches is reporting a huge demand for homes in 2013 with activity increasing across its business.
Customers are returning with renewed confidence at present, says Managing Director Mike Sharman, with company sales up by 38% in the first eight months of the year compared to the same period in 2012.
“August is typically recognised as a slow month in the housing market, but we are definitely seeing a lot more interest from customers this year,” says Mike. “The number of buyers registering an interest in purchasing a home has boomed in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire and buyers are much less speculative than in recent years.”
Whether you are a first-time buyer or an experienced home mover, Mike believes that schemes like Funding for Lending, and more recently Help to Buy, have injected some much needed energy into the housing market.
“I would urge anyone who is thinking of selling to take action sooner rather than later,” he continues. “The housing market is starting to accelerate fuelled by Government schemes and better access to mortgage finance, so we expect to see an increased number of property sales as the year progresses.”
