Great start to the year for local agent

Sharman Quinney in Oundle is pleased to report a significant increase in housing market activity in January 2012. Greater interest in moving home in and around Oundle has led to a higher volume of sales for the branch this January with most buyers looking for property in a higher price bracket when compared to January 2011.
“We’re definitely seeing a different type of buyer at Sharman Quinney in Oundle at the start of 2012, indeed, our average sale price has jumped by a third compared to January last year,” says Ian Bradberry, Branch Manager for Sharman Quinney.
“Clearly, the appetite to move home has been fuelled by greater choice of mortgage products than we saw at this time last year, but it is interesting that the buyers who are most prevalent are those looking for higher end properties,” Ian continues. “We have just completed the sale of a property which we marketed at £1.5million although some sellers of similar properties are speaking to us about selling their homes off market which can be more effective.”
Sharman Quinney expects high levels of activity to continue going forward, especially as the market enters the busy spring period. “There is certainly greater opportunity for sellers in the current market and we are seeing demand outstrip supply as pent up demand from buyers builds momentum,” says Ian. “I would urge anyone who is looking to sell their home this year to get in touch and take advantage of the traditional springtime rush of buyers.”
