Market Deeping branch has renewed its support with the town’s senior football club, by agreeing a new three year pitch side sign sponsorship with the United Counties Premier Division side.

Winning local estate agency Sharman Quinney in Oundle is pleased to report a significant increase in housing market activity in January 2012. Greater interest in moving home in and around Oundle has led to a higher volume of sales for the branch this January with most buyers looking for property in a higher price bracket when compared to January 2011.

“We’re definitely seeing a different type of buyer at Sharman Quinney in Oundle at the start of 2012, indeed, our average sale price has jumped by a third compared to January last year,” says Ian Bradberry, Branch Manager for Sharman Quinney.

“Clearly, the appetite to move home has been fuelled by greater choice of mortgage products than we saw at this time last year, but it is interesting that the buyers who are most prevalent are those looking for higher end properties,” Ian continues. “We have just completed the sale of a property which we marketed at £1.5million although some sellers of similar properties are speaking to us about selling their homes off market which can be more effective.”

Sharman Quinney expects high levels of activity to continue going forward, especially as the market enters the busy spring period. “There is certainly greater opportunity for sellers in the current market and we are seeing demand outstrip supply as pent up demand from buyers builds momentum,” says Ian. “I would urge anyone who is looking to sell their home this year to get in touch and take advantage of the traditional springtime rush of buyers.”

Local estate agency Sharman Quinney is celebrating after winning a prestigious prize at this year’s Estate Agency of the Year Awards, in association with the Sunday Times. The local agent was recognised in the ‘Best Medium Estate Agency’ category at a gala ceremony held on 8 December at the Lancaster London Hotel.

Based on a written submission and telephone interview with the judges, Sharman Quinney was commended for new initiatives launched this year and its approach to ‘simple yet effective customer care’. Its commitment to staff was also noted, with the judges highlighting that Sharman Quinney ‘often employ people new to the industry and train them in the Sharman Quinney way.’

October 1991 began with Bryan Adams still at number one with “(Everything I do) I do it for you” and concluded with Yaxley’s then one and only estate agency, Sharman Quinney, open and ready for business.

Since then, the team at Sharman Quinney has sold well over three thousand homes in Yaxley and the surrounding villages.  Manager Daniel Firmin said: “Opening here in The Maltings back at the start of the 1990's was something of a ground-breaking move for a local estate agent.  Sharman Quinney had opened their first office just two years earlier in Peterborough and up until that point, the industry seemed to expect residents of villages like Yaxley, Stilton and Farcet to make the trip into town to discuss anything property related.  Fortunately our management were more forward thinking, understanding that as a business, we should be providing our service where and when it was needed.”

Sharman Quinney has enjoyed record sales results in June, July and August of this year, indicating that conditions have and continued to improve.  This increase in activity has been reflected in the results posted by Yaxley office - Manager Daniel Firmin adding: “We are currently busier than we have been since the peak in 2007 with demand outstripping supply, which will inevitably lead to some price rises over the coming months.  We are also seeing more buy-to-let purchasers coming to the market, another positive indicator.  But probably the best news on the back of the availability of some 100% mortgage deals is that first time buyers are finding their way onto the property ladder once more, that’s key to a sustained recovery.  Once again we’re seeing some homes snapped up immediately; good news indeed!”

Sharman Quinney have recently announced the availability of a Family Guarantee Mortgage through their in-house Mortgage Consultants and provided by Aldermore Mortgages.

The mortgage is designed for first or second time buyers who don't have a big enough deposit but have a parent, step parent or grandparent who is able and willing to provide a guarantee against their residential property.
